history of my podcast

     Almost 20 years ago I finally got to produce a play I had written back in the 80s.  I arranged to record an ad for it on the local radio station. While there, the owner commented: "You should do a broadcast. You have the voice for it."  

    Soon after, I contacted my friend Russ, who was an audio engineer.  He agreed to participate, so I started writing scripts.  I was (and still is) called "Reflections from God's Word."  We recorded 4 at a time, and I hand-delivered them to the station.

   When I moved to Camp Hill, PA I was unable to get any interest from the local Christian radio stations, since I was unaffiliated with any recognized church.  That's when the idea of a podcast emerged.  Russ again agreed to add new intros and outros to what had been recorded and I started again.      

    The local response was disappointing, but something else happened: People in Europe, South America, Africa, Asia and many island nations were also listening!  

    After a year or so, the prerecorded "Reflections" were all posted.  Russ had retired and was 3 hours away anyway.   I eventually got hold of recordings of messages I'd given at a local church and posted them.  That was a mixed blessing; the church didn't have an audio team, so the messages weren't all easy to hear.  Many of them are still available.

    More recently, I learned how to record right on my computer.  I still don't know how to add music and effects, but I'm back to recording what I call "unplugged Reflections".  When I run out of pre-written scripts, I plan to try speaking extemporaneously.

 REACHING OUT     In the Book of Acts, all the Gospel preaching is done outside the churches, in marketplaces and where sinners were found.  Inside the church meetings, they were taught, and everyone was able to share something from the Lord. This concept was lost over the centuries.  "Reaching the lost" was reduced to "Come to church" where the Gospel was preached to a largely saved congregation, who remained largely untaught.       When churches are challenged to reach out, very few respond effectively.  That's why we now have so many "para-church ministries", and I'm certainly not against them.  After all, they're doing what we've all be told to do.       I once overheard two people reminiscing about Sunday School.  I asked what they were taught.  "We memorized the names of the Books of the Bible", they said.       "That's it?" "Scientific Proof"

 " Scientific Proof" is that which is repeatable, demonstrable and observable. Period. In other words, the complete absence of transitional forms, and the millions of years required to make evolution at all believable, are outside the realm of science.  And yet, they have insisted on calling it science (and even saying "science" when they mean "evolution").  Their position was logically untenable, no matter how loudly and authoritatively they insisted on it.   When evolutionists finally realized that, they invented something called "historical science" as opposed to "operational science". Now they have a form of "science" that doesn't have to submit to experimentation and observation.
